I write a weekly column for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette called Save Yourself. Each week I explore a new financial topic with a practical answer, solution, or action. Most importantly, I frame whatever financial issue I am discussing in the context of saving for retirement. My dream is to make saving, in general, less taboo as a discussion topic. If we can more openly discuss saving, especially saving for retirement, then we can better mainstream practices like saving 10% for retirement, maintaining a 3-6 month emergency fund and avoiding crushing debt.
You can find all my columns here. Not a subscriber to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette? Well, consider it. I am grateful for the local journalists covering important issues to our community, and if this column can inspire you to take bold and healthy financial actions, then there’s a great reason to subscribe.
